Creative Residencies

In-depth creative processes

ABRA Creative Residencies are spaces for deep immersion in the creative process. These experiences are designed for those who want to slow down, delve deeper into a technique, and devote time and attention to creative processes.

Unlike trips, residencies offer more concentrated and intensive encounters, where working with your hands is at the center of the experience.

Each residency takes place in a specific location and focuses on particular techniques, inviting you to explore materials and create your own pieces.

Uruguay

CREATIVE RESIDENCY - March 6 to 8, 2026

We welcome you to the first ABRA Textile Residency in Uruguay, a creative and immersive experience where we will explore, over three days, three ancestral practices that have woven together stories, cultures, and territories throughout time:

Natural dyes, basketry, and loom weaving.

During this residency, we will come together to make things with our hands, reconnect with the rhythms of nature, learn inherited techniques, and experiment with contemporary processes.

These will be days for listening, observing, dyeing, weaving, and transforming. For creating personal textile pieces with meaning and history.

Calchaquí Valleys

CREATIVE RESIDENCY IMMERSION - May 10 to 16, 2026

For seven days, we lived in the Calchaquí Valleys to immerse ourselves in the world of the Creole loom and natural dyes. A time of pause and presence, designed for a small group, where each participant works on their own loom and the craft becomes a shared experience.

Throughout the residency, we delve into the history and technique of the Creole loom, explore the world of natural dyes, and open up spaces for experimentation and creation. Each process accompanies the development of a unique piece, born from the dialogue between territory, material, and time.

An invitation to learn, create, and inhabit the craft in the place where it was born.
