COURSES AT ABRA

Time, practice and shared creation

Our courses are spaces for continuous learning and practice that we offer in Buenos Aires.

In these annual programs, we share ancestral techniques and delve into creative processes from a sensitive and contemporary perspective.

We also organize special workshops with guest artisans, opening up new conversations between territories, crafts, and ways of doing things.

OUR ANNUAL COURSES

Natural Dyes Course

ANNUAL COURSE - by Florencia Cacciabue

A whole year to immerse ourselves in the world of color and materials.
Natural fibers, plants, and fire come together in an experimental journey that encompasses techniques such as indigo, ecoprint, natural dyes, and shibori, which speak of memory and territory.

Throughout the course, the work invites us to build a sensitive logbook, where observation, practice, and shared experience give rise to textile pieces born of time and creativity.

Loom Weaving Course

ANNUAL COURSE - by Carmela Irízar

Every stitch in a fabric tells a story.
This course offers a journey between tradition and experimentation: ancestral textile techniques passed down by master craftswomen from the NOA and NEA regions, brought into the present through our own projects.
An annual cycle of experimentation on the loom, where collective work nourishes individual processes and each weave is transformed into a piece with its own identity, memory, and voice.

Contemporary Basket Weaving Course

INTENSIVE COURSES - by Isabel Hardoy

Exploring and researching fiber becomes an immersive experience here, where making is also a physical experience.
Starting with formio, we go through the entire process: from the plant to the yarn, from the yarn to the shape. Each stage allows us to understand the material, its language, and its expressive power.

A course to incorporate the essential concepts of basketry, oriented towards creative and experimental exploration, where technique is the starting point for investigating forms, rhythms, and possibilities.
